Eight more days to go before Food Revolution Day May 16th...
Food Revolution Day is opened to everyone whether you are an organization, a school or an individual. Many activities are organized by supporters in their local area or voluntary Food Revolution ambassadors who champion food knowledge and cooking skills in their communities. You can participate in a great way by getting your workplace and colleagues involved.
Some things you can do:
* Have your workplace join in Jamie's LIVE cooking lesson.
* Participate in the Sobey's Potluck challenge. When participants share a post or photo of their potluck with the hashtag #PotluckChallenge, Sobeys will donate $1 to the Cooking Toward Independence Project.
* Instead of buying a supermarket sandwich, get your workmates to bring in their favourite sandwich fillers and have everyone mix and match to make their own.
* For breakfast, bring a blender into work and get everyone involved in making their own smoothies.
* Download a Food Revolution Day recipe and cook a meal for colleagues or make extra for your lunch and share it with a work buddy or two.
* Organize a bake sale and encourage workmates to bring in their homemade sweet treats, too with recipes to hand-out.
* Host an activity to promote cooking tasty, nutritious meals from scratch.
* Get in touch with a Food Revolution Day Ambassador (I am an ambassador in Toronto, Canada) for activity suggestions.
* Share your Food Revolution Day pictures and videos via social media.
