Sorry I have been completely MIA... with school wrapping up for both work and my three kids, planning for a summer cooking project (starts this week), and Canada's birthday celebs, well... you get the picture...
However,...... what I could share briefly now and just a highlighter, is this ---
What a fantastic school year working with a terrific bunch of facilitators and teachers in our @tdsb_cs Welcoming Communities culinary program for newcomer kids and parents. Unknown to many, this division at TDSB is dedicated to ease the transition of both newcomer adults and youth & kids to Canada (within five years of arrival), and to foster a sense of belonging through various programs-- and what better way than to connect and unite over food with cooking classes? This is my second year as their Culinary Consultant 👩🍳👨🍳🥑🍓🥦🍅🍊🍉.
CoNGraTs Derek and team for receiving the Innovative Impact Award with The Employee Recognition and Awards Program, and merci for mentioning me 🤗! Thank you for your passion and hard work throughout... we learned a lot from each other, our students and had too much fun cooking together! Wish you all a safe and delicious summer! 🍒
Come back soon to see who these awesome peeps are and a photo gallery of our fun classes.
BTW, I am mostly on Instagram these days, posting stories daily if you want to follow me (What I'll be up to - hosting our second year summer kids' cooking program with the Neighbourhood Table at a west-end church for 8 weeks every Thursday starting this week)- all in preparations for a free dinner at the end of each session. And we are kicking it off with A Canada's Day Picnic. I will be sharing photos and videos absolutely, and posting on my walls on Instagram and Facebook, alongside weekly, a complete blog post here after the session. Lots of excitement and fun, but also lots of time for self care this summer which I am whole-heartedly thrilled about. Talk soon! 🤗
